Haleiwa offers excellent fishing year-round, with different species moving in and out of the area. When deep sea fishing, we primarily target five species: marlin, mahimahi, ono, yellowfin tuna (ahi), and skipjack tuna (aku), all of which are excellent table fare. Our nearshore bottom fishing option allows you to target more than a dozen different species of fish.
A half-day charter is a great option for anglers new to deep sea fishing or for groups that want to fit fishing in alongside other activities. Our fishing grounds are close to the harbor, and there is even time to fish around a FAD buoy. Our motto for a half-day trip is, “We have half the time to catch you a full day’s worth of fish,” so we work extra hard to get you hooked up.
Near Shore Bottom Fishing
This is a great fishing trip for young anglers. The ocean is generally calmer closer to shore, and you will be back in time for lunch. As with our other trips, we start by targeting live bait at first light before heading to our favorite bottom fishing grounds.
We use light tackle to target a wide variety of reef fish, including goatfish, jacks, wrasse, triggerfish, snappers, and amberjacks. We often use multiple hooks on a single line, so it’s common to catch more than one fish at a time. Not all bottom fish are good eating, so we keep the fish you’d like to eat and release the rest.
We target the “Big 5″—Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Ono, Ahi, and Aku—with a professional commercial fishing mindset. Our goal is simple: to put you on as much fish as possible and provide the high-action stories of a lifetime.
